even that, is things that bad where we actually have to be reminded that we need to act like some damn civilized human beings? we're not dogs for crying out loud. people use sticks to remind dogs how to behave because they think they're stupid. things are that bad where folks have to be reminded that we're not that but brothers and sisters.basically, there's someone always trying to run behind so many black people trying to make sure they don't jump off the cliff and self terminate themselves.
Nothing corny about it. Black unity was an essential component in ending Jim Crow. "Brother", "sister", afros, kufis etc. were expressions of black pride in a white supremacist society. I know we still live in a white supremacist world so to me it's powerful and uplifting. Learn some history.
