New 2013 Mazda CX-5 Touring vs. Used 2011 Acura RDX (30,000 miles)

Cost is about the same, the wife and I are trying to decide which way to go.

Opinions?

I'm leaning towards the Acura, but my wife is hypnotized by the new vs. used....

I would go with the used Acura. The hit you take on that new car will have you upside down for the 1st year or two. Not saying that the Mazda is not a bad car but Acura is proven and you're probably getting more car for the price since it is used.

Yea you will take the depreciation hit

But the Acura's gas mileage is TERRIBLE. And it will cost more to maintain, plus run out of warranty faster

If you can... get a CX5 preowned... best of both worlds

I wanna dislike the Mazda, but it looks really good, the biggest thing is the depreciation when the tires hit the pavement in the new car, but then again that Acura should have a warranty as well.

I'd spend the money up in the difference from used to new by getting an extended warranty and copping the Acura.
