I like it. I think it'd be better if you turned the second part into another song altogether, add a hook to it and everything. Is that possible?
i agree :ehh:

also i think the beat drops out for too much on that first hook. after the first two bars on the hook i was expecting it to come back, think itd sound better

Song is dope. The production matches the raw yet introspective lyrics.

You know I fukks with beat switches, but that 3rd verse really could be a whole new song. Or do some project pat shyt and put it right in the middle on some interruption shyt.

Tape seems likes it's coming about real nicely breh. :salute:

I appreciate it fam. Real shyt. And for everyone commenting about the beat switch. Technically it IS two songs.

The concept of the first song is obviously my personal experiences in the streets. The concept of the second is my personal experiences in prison, while also painting the picture of prison life and (hypothetically) talking to and about a youth who didn't heed the advice of the hook on Live Fast. Who's therefore going to end up spending his life in prison.

It's not really meant to be looked at as a beat switch or beat switch attempt. The main audience this album is intended for (at-risk youth), everyone knows has a short ass attention span when it comes to music. The album is 13 tracks long as a result. And being that I touch on prison & personal experience, from different angles on a number of other songs, I felt like splitting it into two tracks would be overkill to some.

So the 2nd half (Die Slow) is moreso meant to be a "bonus" to those who actually sat through the first half (Live Fast). It's the more lyrically potent and heavier track, to me. If cats are paying attention like they're supposed to be, they'll hear it. If not, and they skip through the album, it's a hidden gem.

The way the album is sequenced, there's quite a few bangers and ignorant joints toward the beginning that'll have nikkas like :gladbron: before I slowly transition into deeper/real issues, towards the middle of the album. This track is #8 of 13. Splitting it into 2 tracks ran the risk of lengthening the tracklist I've been perfecting for months, or taking off a song or two that I wouldn't want to, to make up for the split.

It'll all make sense soon. :youngsabo:

No doubt fam. Do what you think is best.
For me, It wasn't just the beat switch (cuz the song did get deeper at that part) it's just the overall length of the track was like 6 min like a No Limit posse cut.

I think it's dope either way (the way it is now, or a whole new song etc..) I appreciate the explanation though and now I understand what you were going for.

Your bars be descriptive as fukk too.

Where that Seven Kites song at? I need the rest of the story :wow:

NH I like your voice and flow. You kinda remind me of Tom Gist but I don't know if your flow is as filthy tho :mjpls:

I get your thought process on having Live Fast/Die Slow being connected even tho it's two tracks. Sometimes you just need shyt to flow together.

If you looking for a podcast to come through on and drop some story's let me know breh.

Yeah it's definitely the longest track on the album. I feel like every (maybe not every) album should have that ONE lengthy joint for whatever reason. Songs be short as fukk for the short attention spans of the modern listener, and it's only so many 3:30 second joints you can have. But good lookin my G. And yeah, I don't know what got into me the day I wrote this joint but I was in the cell like :banderas: You know how it be when your pen just start flowing & you impressed wit your own work...

Ain't been able to comment yet but it was worth the sticky I put on it no doubt, this is dope.

Thanks fam. & the sticky was definitely a good look. :salute:
