thecoli needs this collab ASAP
I Sell Drugs Part 2

call it DRUGS and the hook can go
"I sell drugs,
in every city, every town
I sell drugs!!

I recover from drugs
broken windows,
crack and down

I recover from drugs"

and its the 2 of you going back n forth

and get The Mekanix to flip the original beat

Sometimes I think about going back in time and I imagine the difference in the song's marketing potential and listener receptibility if I were to have said "I Do Drugs" instead of "I Sell Drugs"

And it's an interesting prospect because ...
I've got love for Adonnis and his song AND video for I sell drugs. (I still haven't created an as high quality video as that one)

But if you really want to make the contrast point add this to your blurb.

Admiral Crumple - Cocaine Overdose

And please give it a listen. "Cocaine Overdose" from 2008.

It has over 10,000 views with no promo and a fan favorite!

... we both have experience with cocaine that was highly impactful and perhaps even pivotal in our path. Both Adonnis and Admiral Crumple have mentioned once holding affinity for the drug, but Admiral Crumple hold onto resentment while Adonnis has fond memories of his time with the drug. One may presume Admiral Crumple's experience with cocaine may have been more regular while Adonnis would partake every other week or so, usually daylong solo sessions coupled with hours of lyrical writing

I actually wrote this song before I got into coke but not long before this song may have signaled the interest to come

Prior to that song I was at a point where I may have had cocaine given to me in passing and take a bump and I'd never think about it and practically barely discerned the affect

Similar to

For writers, cocaine has a direct affect on the aspect of the brain that writes

I stopped doing cocaine at 30, celebrated a year without cocaine by.. doing coke one time ... So now I am basically open to doing coke once a year at most

I recognize the potential for the effect of this drug's irresponsible use

I propose that we rap debating the ethics of ending the war on drugs and/or legalizing cocaine :obama:

But that's neither here nor there for now, let's celebrate this new release from The Coli's Very Own white Nas :ahh:

I hear you, but I've never messed with cocaine.

My experience is being around dealers in my teens and twenties.

And watching people's lives get destroyed by it.

A friend's Mom who was 44 at the time lost her condo, career, and looks. Last I saw her she looked homeless.

Two friends died from it.

And I threatened two dealers in recent times for scumbag behavior.

I appreciate your openness and honesty with it tho.

And yes - if it can be controlled - fine.

The problem is, it could be a slippery slope.

I'm curious - are those girls doing real lines of blow in that video?

That's a crazy video.

Again, a well made video.

"I wrote truths galore on Plexi Glass" that's a strange entendre/ oxymoron - as I did not write on plexiglas as that's a lie - but I wrote truths and factual reality ON Plexi Glass Park the album.

Plexi Glass - lies, fake, liars on social media, plastic needles and crack pipes in parks with addicts - society's downfall

Park - nature, vibrant, life, growth, energy, truths, facts, beauty

I have no idea what they busted out, those were two girls that were hanging around the Paramount (recording) Studios I invited them into my session and told them we'd be filming

I remember that day walking around Hollywood and I'm getting all these calls and my phone's getting flooded with text messages from my Bay Area girlfriend and she's yipping and yapping about me doing my thing rather than her thing and I'm walking down Hollywood boulevard and I just happen to hear behind me two men talking about a Suga Free concert taking place one street over at a venue called Joseph's (semi-shady Hollywood nightclub that stays open until early morning)

Met Suga Free that night ... my favorite rapper living rapper

Later that same summer I meet DJ Quik ... I meet him on stage while performing my song. I expected this to result in a windfall of new support from family back east but nah nobody gave a fukk, basically like "not like it's Dr. Dre" :shaq:

The videographer of the music videos also snapped this moment on video ... If my Bay Area friends did that, they wouldn't even send me the video unless I paid them for it .... If he didn't take this video I wouldn't even be able to repeat this story because it just wouldn't be believable

It'd be like if you're performing your song on stage and your idol Prince comes to the stage to congratulate you on your song production and your family goes "so it's not like it was Michael Jackson"

... Somewhere between that and the next season or so is when cocaine binges coupled with psychedelic adventure, home alone by myself, worked itself into the routine. I did this until a random Tinder girl showed up at my doorstep and didn't leave for 5 years (25 to 30), and the end of that marked the end of my indulgence in cocaine ... And yeah, even with just a twice a month regularity I'd organize so much of my focus around that to the point that I wouldn't write without it, I'd jot down a line that comes to here or there all the time or even a chorus or notes about a song concept but not settle into the immersion of the writing process as before and in that sense ... As does anything that offers us cheap dopamine ... Cocaine robbed me of the passion that was the driving force of my life. Change my name at 18, left my family on the east coast immediately after high school and came out to California didn't know nobody and then I went to the Bay Area just cuz I wanted to be closer to the culture that resulted in the music that influenced me so much (namely Mac Dre) ... I essentially took on "rapper" as an identity in the same way folks in the trans movement do ... But there's no flags for us

Very, very well said.

I respect your work towards your goals. You're a G for real.

Have you pressed up CDs?

Gonna check out that live video with you and DJ Quick.

All dope.

Yeah, friends and family hardly supported me.

I learned that long ago. It's scary, like why wouldn't someone support one going for their passions?

But you know - work and beer take precedence over supporting or believing in others.

And they themselves are nowhere near their life's gifts. Untapped potential lives. fukk em!
