Nop, it will drop after September.

Mr Porter said that the album will probably be released after the summer.

The Grammys are - imo - one of the factors as to why we might not have an album before October 1st (and consequently the shows). Why? Pure speculation, of course, BUT, Kendrick Lamar and Eminem are both signed to Aftermath/Interscope, and one could imagine that Em doesn't want to (1) compete with Kendrick’s critically acclaimed album, or (2) "steal the show" from K dot. Depends on how you flip it, but either way, it's not an optimal situation.

Pretty sure Iovine wants to dominate 2 Grammy Awards shows instead of 1. It would be great for Interscope to win The Grammy 2014 AND 2015.

IMO, The only problem in the equation is Drake
The roc is
#1 , #2 , #3 , #4 on the billboard 200 right now, I think Eminem will drop when Eminem feels like dropping. I don't think he's gonna let a grammy award to some young rapper dictate months of hectic days in his life. It's a fatter chance that he'd sign his "friends" D12 to his label.

lol what ? nobody cares if Drake body someone or not... guest verses are irrelevant in this discussion coz we're talking about albums.

It's almost well known that Kendrick got the album of the year on lock @ Grammy.
It's a competition because Drake is the last contender to release his album and we don't even know if it's gonna be great or not.

How are guest verses irrelevant? When Drake has the best verse on ya album it just re-afirms a popular belief of him being on a higher level.

If Drake drops another critically acclaimed album & continue to out perform Kendrick on collabs it could give him the edge at the grammies...not to mention having a bigger radio presence, being a bigger artist period, the grammies is a popularity contest after all.

What do you mean with no more?

They do this to all the "genre awards", they give all of them one televised acceptance speech each. 1 country, 1 rock, 1 pop and 1 rap. I think they might've had 2 country. But Rock is still the biggest genre as far as sales go and got as "few" as rap.

I mean no more, as they use to have a lot more urban performances, and now its just the crossover urban performances they have. And its ok if you dont have a rap acceptance speech, but how about more rap artists are presenters, they don't like that either.

For hip hop performers, jay got a verse, Wiz got a verse, and we got a beastie boys tribute (of course white rap group tribute)compare that to all the full song rock performances, and country its not even close to balanced.

The Grammies dont care bout blacks, and neither should we. Get ur money, enjoy the music and F da jews. str8 goods

1) Drake's verse on gkmc isn't even in the top 5 of the album while most people think that Kendrick had the best verse on Take Care.

2) they don't care if X had good guest verses, they'll make the "better album" win

The Grammy experts look at:

-Album sales
-Impact/reviews/quality

Why is it a competition ?
because Drake is the most popular artist and Kendrick is the most (critically) acclaimed artist

drake will go plat, no doubt, but will the album be acclaimed ? that's another question.
No need to say that Kendrick > drake or Drake > Kendrick for these grammy because the album ain't even out yet. :whoa:

To your initial point, there is 1 televised acceptance speech for every genre. Which was what I was referencing to.
But

Excluding performances I think I got it to:
2 rappers took stage
3 r&b/soul acts
3 country acts
3 rock acts
2 Indie pop/folk acts
3 pop acts
1 Latin act
2 Blue/Jazz etc.

Presenters
4 Rappers (including Pitbul)
5 Rnb/soul
2 :flabbynsick: Blues/Jazz.
Print
5 Country
2 Rock
2 pop
- A bunch of actors

so every genre had between 0-3 artists taking stage (rap 2), every genre had 1 televised acceptance speech, every genre between 0 - 5 presenters (rap 4) . Among the people eligible for awards, only The throne/Drake had hits and both of them dropped in 2011. So from what I can see rap had 1 less than maximum in every category, while rap was faaar from only "1 less" than pop, country and rock as far as what the general public was fukking with in 2012. The only thing I can conclude is that, if rappers put on, they'll get put on. Move millions of singles or albums, and they'll welcome you to perform. It's not charity, it's a business.

In regards to Drake.
I assume that they didn't want to have him performing 4 years in a row and him not having dropped any music in 18 months. So that leaves Kendrick Lamar and Good Music, if both of them performed, we would've had the most acts with the fewest hits, least sales :lawd:.

Drake would have to have a masterpiece to overtake Kendrick for album of the year I think. Anything less and they screw Kendrick and then I know the Grammy's are full of shyt. And I know the Grammy has a cutoff date for albums but I just find it weird. Like how could Jay be nominated for best song in 2010 for the Blueprint 3 yet the actual album not get nominated till 2011. Then how can TI be nominated for best album in 2009 but Dead and Gone be nominated for best rap/sung collab in 2010?

Sorry your info/numbers are false. as per 2013 Grammy Awards - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

You said every genre got 1 televised acceptance speech, well Country music had 2, Miquel and Wiz presented the best country solo performance, then later Kelly Clarkson presented Best Country album.

Also Pop Solo performance was televised, and later on they televised best pop vocal album.

Check back in the early to mid 2000s Rap/hip hop had a bigger influence on the Grammies than they do now.

You stated 5 country artists presented, well there was only 2 hip hop presenters not 4, no Pitbull doesnt count. It was just Wiz and Nas.

Grammies still and always have luv for rnb and pop, but Hip Hop/Rap took over for a few years and recently they jus dont give a F about it. Still the easiest point they didnt let 1 hip hop artist perform their own full rap song. You can at least give us that, not jus a verse here or there but 1 full song.

You really complaining about 1 more or 1 less, I counted quick as fukk didn't analyze the material, Pitbull counts as much as Taylor Swift is country, too many genres crossing over specially in rock/country/pop.

And I can look at raps commercial peak around 2000, when rap had 3 categories (as many categories as The Roots won grammys 2 years ago) and Rock had 8 and classic like 12 or something and zero rap performances. The year after was better, I think Em performed with Elton John, couldn't even get his own stage after selling 10 million, he had to perform with Elton John to get a pass from the homos.

Who they gonna give that main stage? No rappers with hits were out, you think they bout to put 2 Chainz on there talking about all he wanting for birthday is a big booty hoe?

My only problem with the Grammy's is how disrespected hiphop when hiphop actually was bigger than shyt like Country, but during 2012 hiphop was by far the least successful genre of the 4 and rightfully had the least TV time. Proportionally correct and everyone who had something new and poppin delivered his, besides Kanye who decided to participate and Kendrick, Kendrick who probably was the only rapper who had a hit that was performable on national tv at the moment. If rappers stop making wack music, "hood singles" and start dropping albums instead of mixtapes we can have a discussion about this, but for now the numbers speak for themselves.

If you think Pitball is rap/hip hop then u should get out the coli ASAP. And when counting the country artist I didnt even include Taylor Swift, that would further boost the numbers.

It's ok, just admit, Grammies dont give a fukk bout rap/hip hop. It's aight, we dont give a fukk bout em either.
