david dallas is such a simpleton ass rapper, but to be from another country this is the right way to make a dent in the US

he 2/2 with gibbs, caught in a daze is a rare 5/5 track

I don't get how he's a simpleton rapper? Technically Dave is up there with the best in my opinion. Plus he's come a long way from the early punchline rap he was doing.

i dont think hes anywhere near the best in terms of voice, flow, delivery, rhyme scheme anything really. i will acknowledge its tough being from new zealand and adapting to maybe how we rhyme in the states. if dave is up there in terms of your favorites i get that, but the word technically means in technical terms and i dont think he can do a single thing freddie gibbs could do on a single record

he isnt bad, but i dont think he's excellent at anything but making decent to good records and good at relating to the listener. and thats more than i can say for a lot of artists

let me also edit this some in that he has quite a few decent to good records, he is not bad by any means in making songs

Yeah his song writing skills and personability are definitely his best assetts, but to me he's always had dope similies, metaphors and different flows / rhyme schemes as well. Check his Heaven and Thuggish Ruggish Bone freestlyes for 2 completely different styles.

In saying that, I was listening to this track this morning and the schemes are pretty simple. Being from New Zealand myself I obviously relate to his shyt a lot more though, and am probably biased haha.

:salute:though breh.

yeah i'm glad you got where I was coming from, i'll keep twice as many songs from artists like him than artists who may be technically greater or more lyrical. i've always felt personally if everyone stayed in their lane and did what they do best, that's the greatest way to develop a fanbase and to raise the quality of music in the genre overall. you may never be a millionaire, but at least you can make some lasting music
