About First Light:

First Light gets its cue from the braggadocio and conceptual characteristics that were commonly expressed in the early nineties “Golden Era” of hip hop. But, at the same time, their way of displaying an affinity for and a loathing of the apathy and debauchery that permeates today’s pop culture is poetically contradictory. Hence, the title of their debut album Fallacy Fantasy in stores March 12th, 2013.

First Light group members Opio and Pep Love will be lighting up live shows on metropolitan spot dates, college promo dates and chittlin circuit jook joints in the middle of nowhere in the lead up to the release of their debut project Fallacy Fantasy. In the interim they’ll still be giving their fans samples of their latest work while performing with the Hieroglyphics collective in a whirlwind of upcoming activity starting in mid January that will include leaks, documentary behind the scenes footage and music videos. .

With Unjust from Chosen Few picking up most of the production work Fallacy Fantasy has a varying musical style throughout and begins with a bang on the song Greetings with Pep starting “Gentlemen start your engines spittin this art is vintage, I’m emptying cartridges of bars at audiences’”. As the record continues into songs like Los Lobos Opio’s acumen for weaving together phrases and fragments over this somber psychedelic melody are immediately apparent.

First Light’s debut album Fallacy Fantasy will stimulate the hypothalamus and keep you warm in the winter, dry in the rain and cool in tropical heat.

Souls of Mischief are really the only ones that are the most consistent out that group. Thier albums never dissapointed. But thier solo lps, I don't really like. They should also do another hiero album, but I talked to tajai and he said its hard for them to all come together..

lol that album has been supposed to come out for the last 6 years, on some Detox shyt. It isn't coming out and even if it is, Del hasn't been half as good the last few years.

He announced he was finished with it like 4 months ago and he still has to add a little bit here and there..I think it's finished by now or he's doing the finishing touches

Check out Casual...best in the Crew the past 5 years...Op never disapoints solo, Tajai beats on his debut were :comeon: but lyrically he killed it, Phes came thru with a heatrock:myman: and A plus debut was :ehh:. As colective they are the Fanstastic 4!!

The last project I really liked from Casual was "Smash Rockwell". Not really feeling the 5 or 6 albums he's dropped since then. I actually copped Phestos album off ITunes last year to support him since it was his first lp..i wish I didn't because it was kinda weak. Didn't like that last pep love. Their beats are starting to sound too electronic and I hope they don't go that Zion I route.
