If this thread or idea was already created, my bad... If it ain't the pistons, lions or wolverines I don't be in the coliseum like that.
For those that say the NBA needs to break up the super teams tell me why this wouldn't work.
Every team gets to offer one blank check deal to any player they want when they become a free agent.
It doesn't count against the cap. If you want to offer KD 1 billion over 5 years, you can.
You can't trade a player with a uncapped deal to a team that has a player on a uncapped deal unless you're trading for the player on an uncapped deal or the team hasn't used theirs.
You don't have to use this tool if you don't want to.
Because of this uncapped deal the salary cap will be lowered (people way smarter than me can come up with those figures).
I'm not arguing whether or not the league needs parity. That's another discussion for another thread.
Yes, I understand this doesn't guarantee super teams wouldn't be created. Everyone on the warriors could agree to play for league minimums and that would be their choice.
My logic behind this is the punishment for creating a super team would be severe if you're truly a great player.
I'm sure KD, Curry and Klay would all be candidates for this uncapped deal. They'd really have to love playing with each other to accept a 20 million per deal while passing up 40,50... 200 million per to play in Orlando or Sacramento.
