Legislation in the state Senate and Assembly would create a task force to investigate New Jersey’s historical legacy and its involvement in the slave trade. The task force would then come up with recommendations for reparations.

Given that NJ wasn't a slave state, they won't find as many injustices as you would in say Georgia. Also, those two committees should be happening in parallel, not consequently. Whatever the recommendations are, it better be for African-Americans (ADOS/FBA/DACS) only.

New Jersey was and is a pretty egregious place when it comes the treatment of black Americans. NJ had a habit of round up freed black and locking them up on gp.

And even if they did go that route I could see them saying that you'd have to trace your ancestry to slavery and pay the daily rate based on how many actual slaves where in your family So if you're Like Umar and a Descendent of Fredrick Douglass he was half white and he was a slave until he escaped so actually the Bailey Family might get say 5 grand or something like that.
