the war wasn't over, so cant do that....still think part 4 will pick up from somewhere during part 3...
I know it wasn't said so, but I still think the ending to me3 was a dream sequence...in fact, I think the majority of the game is the reapers trying to indoctrinate shepard...all signs point to that in the game cause the whole game he was demonstrating signs of indoctrination...examples: the dreams, the headaches, the sounds/moans shepard would hear while he was awake, the switching of the choice colors at the end, etc....
also, we didn't even fight the main reaper that was talking shyt to you throughout 2 and 3....
