92 was one of my favorite years ever. Being a young teenage kid, I was a nerd at heart (getting A's and B's in high school) but still ripping and running the streets. Riding shotgun in my man's all black AC Legend, hitting up spots like the rink in Berginfield NJ, Club 2000, Homebase, Greekfest, etc and mind you I was only 15 at the time. I was on my young/fly sh*t, sporting Polo, Hilfiger, Nautica, Brooks Brothers. Even copped my first Coogi sweater in 92. Although I was in the streets, stilled stayed socially conscious. Would always be at the Masjd on South Orange ave, play Malcolm X, Imam Warith Deen Mohammed, and Farrakhan speeches in my walkman. I remember when the Malcolm X movie dropped that fall, my whole entire family went to see it opening day. Black TV shows were in full swing like Martin, Def Comedy Jam, Different World, Roc. Music was on fire. Go downtown and copped the latest Ron G and S&S tapes. Everyday after school, would try to catch Video Music Box . Tape Red Alert, Kid Capri, Stretch and Bobbito shows off the radio. Summer time, all I was bumping was Mecca and the Soul Brother and Daily Operation. Fall it was Redman's Whut Thee Album, EPMD, Marys What's The 411. The singles that dropped that year were crazy too. Thank you @DANJ! for that flashback!
