n Rise of the Teenage Ninja Mutant Turtles, the four brothers are each a different reptile, and possess a very different weapon from what we’re used to. The cool but crude Raphael is now team leader, the position previously held by Leonardo. Not only that, he’ll be a snapping turtle who’s ditched his iconic sais for twin tonfas. Leonardo, now a red-eared slider full of charm and “rebel heart,” will be wield an ōdachi sword; Donatello is a soft-shell turtle with a tech bo staff and master coder; and Michelangelo is a box turtle rocking a kusari-fundo with the personality of an artist.

Nickelodeon’s Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Along with the new personalities and weapons, the Turtles will find themselves with magical powers they’ll use to save New York and the mystical city that lies beneath it. Trusty human friend April O’Neil will offer help, although for the first time in series history, she’ll be a young black woman. Together with Master Splinter, the heroes will work to defeat mutant alchemist Baron Draxum.

My boy told me this was coming. He works licensing for nick and told me I’d hate the new turtle design lol. Hit him this morning as soon as I saw this. I do like Leo’s character description thoand a black April. But these designs look terrible.

Im 31 so i cant go back and enjoy the cartoon show i watched as a kid, or any of the new ones. Looks like they got alot bigger in physical size then they use to be

I don't understand the regularity that TMNT and Transformers keep getting adaptations. Like one group of five year olds grow up without one of them and they rush out another adaptation

I don’t get that either. I mean it doesn’t bother me but I’m genuinely curious why that’s the way things work now. Rebels is about to end and they’re already working on the the next Star Wars cartoon. Ultimate Spider-Man ended (thank god) and they already had another Spider-Man cartoon in production and ready to go. It’s weird the way shyt works now
