still horrible blocky textures, jaggy ass non-anti aliased models, horrible draw distance, no shadows to speak off, patchy grass.... just kind of overall? yuck

compare this to a Wii U game that came out in 2015

im not a huge graphics whore but they need t at least be able to match breath of the wild at this point. Presentation for a game where you're literally out in the open world 90% of the time is key.

I don't expect anything innovating from Gamefreak. They've been using the same outdated animations in Pokemon for ages now.

I mean I understand though. If you're making a killing off mediocrity, and you can continue to get away with it, then why not. Units still going to push even if it's trash. :wow:

I actually like that they are trying something new here im just not sure why their games look like low budget AA/Indie titles with the billions of dollars in revenue they make. They got a chance to actually make a stand out GOTY type game but it looks like a DS game still. I don't want to play something that looks like that on a 4k tv.

tehy need to get out of handheld mode for this game.

pokemon snap isn't state of the art either but it still looks better than that shyt.

I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt and saying this is a really early beta
the frame rates were dropping for crying out loud :bryan:

another thing i noticed is they didn't really show a lot... They showed what looked like the immediate grassy region, and like 5 pokemon and then looped it. This is like a winter 2022 title at best and i hope they get some help from monolith

I can only theorize here. My assumption would be that they're going with the if it ain't broke don't fix it method. Basically instead of throwing a huge budget to fix the things we discussed such as graphics and animation... just recycle the same game and maximize the profit. As long as the consumer doesn't demand more, we'll continue to get what we're getting.

the bar is so low for pokemon its frustrating lol

all I aak is for something that isn't made with the intention of being played in handheld mode.

Those frame drops :mjlol:

They got no shame showing it off though

If they're not gonna up the quality they could at least start offering these games at a lesser price. $49.99 or even $29.99 :ehh:

It does look washed but I'm appreciating any step in the good direction when it comes to Pokémon. Without giving gamefreak a cent of course.
