Have you ever even read what I have previously said about pimps to ask me such a question? I did. It says that pimps aren't running the game like that. People always assume that sex workers have daddy issues and need a pimp when that is not true. Most girls are in it to support themselves and their families and live regular lives outside of it. They treat it as a job and go on about theirs lives. People assume that you live "the lifestyle" when that is not the case for most girls. The purpose of a pimp is to recruit more business than you would get yourself and if the pimp is doing that they drop him/her. People always assume pimps are running things and taking all the girls money. This article confirms what I have said about pimp's roll in "the game" but not necessarily on what pimps actually do.

Without reading the article, I'd have to imagine that the pimp/hoe relationship has adapted and changed greatly in the last 10 years because of emerging technology. Hoes dont have to walk the stroll in the rain and snow....they can advertise on site like craigslist, which is accessible to everyone,, and make further arraignments through a cell phone discretely and comfortably. Its a business more so than pure exploitation, and the actual hoes have far more leverage than in the past. Internet killed the pimp.

The article's purpose isn't to exonerate pimps, but, makes the statement: poverty traps woman/girls into sex trafficing, not the "boogeyman" pimp.

You're initial post aims to reinforce the idea that these women's own admission can't stand next to the idea that pimpin' has merely evolved.

Exactly! So all this nonsense about P's kiddnapping 10 year old's and forcing in to a life prostitution is more a myth than anything factual. And ho's are going to ho regardless as to whether they have a P or not.

Basically it says that MANY Pimps are NOT the evil boogie men or pedophiles that the media plays them out to be in real life. While the article is NOT promoting criminality it is separating fact from fiction.
