This shyt is sad. I wonder if it's incompetence/nonchalant or bribery from the airlines. Or does our country just not care?

How many politicians actually care about high speed rails? How many Americans care about high speed rails?
its the bribery. Oil lobby doesn't make money if you take a train.
They'd rather you take a bus or a plane.

No other reason.

Thats why the country got rid of all those electic trolley cars back in the day too and replaced them with less efficient buses

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
The oil and automobile industry indoctrinated, then brainwashed the entire country decades ago to buy cars. Entire cities, towns, and ecosystems revolve around having a car. So what do you expect :dahell:

People love to complain about not having something the culture in this country knows nothing about. Everyone wants to live in the suburbs and subdivisions with no transit. So stop complaining.

Honetly I don't think trains would ever be popular. We are too conditioned to want to get there as fast as possible. I looked at taking a train from Monaco to Valencia spain it was 19 hours with three transfers. I was like naw we will just fly in an hour and a half. I can see them being more popular in the northeast coridor, but outside of that the distances are much larger than europe. But when train tickets are similar to flights......people are going to fly instead

Acela trains are NICE!!!! If I'm taking the train, I'm only doing Acela

I love Amtrak on the east coast! You just pull up to the train station and go, no security checks and all of that mess. For a plane you're doing security going in and out.

You can get cheaper tickets if you're willing to wake up early. also notice those tweets aren't showing the flight dates. They could be for October for all we know but when I do a quick lookup for flights next Tuesday those prices are $400+ while I can get a train for about a $100.

Edit: those Acela stops also enhance international flights because bwi/Wilmington/Newark/JFK are close to the Amtrak stops
