I know the area pretty well. It really is random-as-hell to put the only Bojangles in NYC there.

They probably didn't do much market research or even consider the traffic flow. That intersection stays busy with cars, and the Church Ave/Remsen Ave/Ralph Ave triangle is always awkward. Doesn't even look like a drive-thru option is available. Maybe they're relying on foot traffic because parking is a mess over there. But if that were the case, to her point, there are many better locations around the city that should've been considered.

Oh it's in the deep hood...Probably the best value for the rent :yeshrug: plus driving to the spot is the last thing for NYC franchises about when ppl can take the train and walk a bit...I've seen more random; remember the Carl's Jr that was near Kings County Hospital for like a bit :wtf:?

I move away and Bojangles comes to NYC :martin:

I was curious to taste their fried chicken, I know VA has Bojangles off the top of my head but Tampa does not.

Side note, I miss crown/kennedy fried hot wings :mjcry:
We got it from NC.

Yes, the food is delectable as long as a Southerner is back there frying the chicken.

Ain’t no telling what the ockys, habibis, and Caribs finna be back there chef’n though.

I definitely wouldn't call that "deep hood." Just working class families in 1-2 family homes, very Caribbean. I know that area very well. It's definitely deep in Brooklyn though. There are 3 bus stops in that intersection, but I don't see it lasting more than a year or so before they pull the plug.

She's right that a healthier option (smoothies, juice bar, etc.) would get the desired foot traffic business in that location. I mean, Popeye's is 3 blocks up Church Ave, McDonald's 2 blocks in the other direction, Burger King right there, and countless Caribbean and Chinese spots in the area. Folks with cars will drive to better food options. HS students ain't gonna stop going to Popeyes because Bojangles showed up.

At least, the Burger King has a parking lot and that's somehow been around for over 50 years.
