Pharrell spoke out on Ferguson with CNN’s Don Lemon Monday night, and said he was “disappointed in the way it was handled from the government side.” But Pharrell said this felt like another instance of black people being targeted.
He said that while Officer Darren Wilson should be punished for use of excessive force, “at the same time, we’ve gotta start looking at ourselves too, because we are feeling hunted.”
Pharrell also took a shot at the media, because while there were peaceful protests, “what the media chose to cover most of all and highlight was the random few people that threw Molotov cocktails.”
Lemon also spoke with Pharell about his views on the “new black,” a philosophy Pharrell described as one that “doesn’t blame other races for our issues.”
