This 6 year old sounds like he or she was functioning above his or her age level. I am assuming they are functioning like a 8 or 9 year old.

They planned to bring a gun to school
They knew the context of gun use (during conflict)
They knew how to aim the gun
They knew how to fire the gun.

I have a feeling that this child had to grow up way before their time.

It's hard reporting on child incidents like this without outing the child. No one wants to be responsible for hate mail being sent to a 6 year old, so even focusing on his parents would be problematic because you would be disclosing who the kid is.

Yeah but most 6 year olds can’t even tie their shoes. Having the hand and finger dexterity to aim and fire a gun means that they either were taught how to use a gun or are functioning above their age level.
