didn't punk say he's retiring after his contract is done right?

Maybe not after this one, but he has hinted that he wants to retire in the imminent future.

He should probably call it a career soon, all things considered. The guy's looked old and broken down since that Lesnar match and seemingly coming back too early from his sabbatical hasn't seemed to help anything.

RVD can have the same role as Jericho. Come back, get someone over, leave for a bit.

I could see Punk extending his career on a reduced schedule like RVD's.

I think you'll see more and more of those kinds of contracts in the coming years.

The part-time contracts.....is it best for business going forward? (no pun intended)

It works for certain guys, but at the same time, you'd like to see the company develop somebody young

They can do both at the same time. The part-timers shouldn't just come in and dominate. When those part-timers come in for a three-month run, they win a few big matches to re-establish their credibility, and as they approach the end of their run, they put over a younger wrestler. Take a few months off, then come back and do it again.

Most of these part-timers are bullet-proof. They're established enough that they're gonna stay over even when they lose, so they're perfect for developing the younger dudes.
