The phone numbers for the draftees are given to the teams and they're supposed to be confidential. The Falcons are supposed to establish the protocol to do so. Clearly they didn't inform their employees how to keep the info safe so they're on the hook for the mistake as well the individual who messed up.

The NFL has fined the Falcons $250,000 and defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich $100,000 in response to Ulbrich's son's prank call made to Shedeur Sanders during the NFL draft.

First thing they can do is stop giving the numbers to several people within a team. Why does the defensive coordinator even have the phone numbers? They definitely shouldn't have them stored on personal devices.

The NFL should just have a security person with every team and give them the numbers. The players should have a list of team numbers so if they get a call that's not verified they know not to answer.
