Raider Rule #1 . There are no rules. Raider Rule #2 See Rule #1 . Pride and poise, the will to win, commitment to excellence. How can you not fukk with a squad like this? It'd be a dream come true to be able to own this team, I'd carry on that same fukk you attitude Al did and I think any Raider fan would too. :myman:

I just hope that the Davis family aren't forced to sell this team. Local radio has been talking about the Mike Holmgren effect and what he could possibly bring to this team...

and sports business interests me where I can become obsessed with it.

Al Davis has been strapped for cash/liquidity for quite some time. The Raiders still owe a lot of money to the NFL for the lawsuits and judgements against Al Davis. The NFL has not forced the Raiders to pay any of that yet hoping to have a say in who can potentially buy the Raiders.

He sold off approximately 20% stake in the Raiders to local Venture Capitalists so that he could have the necessary cash to pay the monster signing bonuses and salaries of the Jawalrus', Seymour, Warren Sapp, and every other SOB who just showed up for a paycheck.

I think it's safe to bet that Al Davis did NOT take care of the inheritance tax prior to his death like Jerry Buss did for his kids with the Lakers. If/when Al Davis' wife passes, I fear the worst that Mark might be forced to sell the team. Speculation is that it will easily be in the 100 million dollar mark with the lawsuit still not taken care of.

They are hoping Holmgren could be the necessary "face" of the franchise to woo more investors for a stadium funding project. The niners were smart when they hired a local Silicon Valley Business Executive named Gideon Yu. This guy has been part of many successful startups (Yahoo, Facebook and I believe Google) to name a few. He played an integral part in securing additional funding for their stadium.

I hope Holmgren can help lead that effort because the O.co is a fukking dump and this season, they are tarping off Mount Davis (which the Raiders still owe money on) so that they can reduce the max capacity to reduce the number of blackouts they face per season to increase their revenue through TV ads.

Raiders need a new stadium in the worst way and for the Raiders to maintain SOME semblance of Al's vision, the Davis family MUST remain involved with this organization.

I'm hearing rumors that Steve Young and Brent Jones would be the front runners to buy this organization ... they have been wanting to own a team for a LONG time and they have the VCs to back them.

Man, my all time wish is for the Raiders to get a new stadium either in Oakland or LA. Shape it like the Raider shield, have a HOF type museum inside celebrating all the great Raiders of the past, 4 major walkways leading to the stadium lined with statues of some ofthe GOAT people and GOAT moments of the teams history. A stadium to celebrate all that Al had done and to remind whoever runs the team what kinda shoulders this franchise stands on now.
