The demonetization of this woman is a dead issue to me. Not only is she not here to receive the question, no prominent women's rights activist has, or probably would ever tell the world that the abortion rate in the black community has helped. She is also not here to question about modern gender inequities and modern forms of birth control.

I generally don't like the results. Abortion clinics are a pathology in the hood. But she is dead and we are in different times so I'm not going to judge her in today's context.

I never understood that. Planned Parenthood allows low-income women to access to free birth control and abortions. Black people have a higher percentage of poverty. Children often crystalize situations so it makes sense not to have them until you are financially and emotionally ready to do so. My maternal great-great gram (rip) preached the rhythm method and even told my mom that White people had access to things (private abortions) that we didn't and not to have kids until she was ready by the right man.

People also throw that 15 million black babies have been murdered. As unwanted children somehow would improve our lot. Imo 15 million less children peppered on our aunts and grandmas living room floor nights and weekends while momma works a 2nd job or wants to hit up the traphouse, less Medicaid and reduced lunch, less kids to rob me in their teens bc their parents are not involved. Women who have abortions often have children later when they are ready (particularly my White and Asian friends). Nothing worse than having a child out of guilt or obligation. Quality over quantity.

I don't get it though, not to sound like a skeptic. If PP was setup to help mothers, or women who didn't want to be mothers, then why are PP primarily in black neighborhoods?

Is it because most people in upper class or middle are kinda forced to have the baby?

But if PP were primarily in white, affluent neighborhoods, people would complain about there not being enough around lower class and minority neighborhoods. Then the conspiracy theory would be "whites want it harder for black women to end a pregnancy, so she'll have 5 or 6 kids and the cycle of generational poverty can continue unabated". A real dammed if you do, dammed if you don't scenario. It's a harsh truth, but Planned Parenthood provides a net positive service to our society. Stop it with the conspiracy theories... as if individuals have no free will in regards to preventing or terminating a pregnancy.

China got out of poverty in large part because of their one child policy in the 70s...it forced people to value their children. make sure they invested EVERYTHING in that one child...education ,healthcare,nurturing...Those kids are probably in their 40s now...theyre driving the economic engine
