On one had you can say the owners created the salary cap to bring parity to the league but no. that wasn't it. They did it to regain leverage over player salaries when the free agent era started. They basically cut off their nose to spite their face with the hard cap imo. We will never get to see how good teams can be over a long period as a result. I think they should at least not include franchise tag salaries against the cap. and if a team decides not to franchise a player they get an extra 5 mil added to thier cap space for that year or some shyt.
