Should be interesting to see where Vinny lands, and what kind of contract he gets. He's still a valuable player IMO, 32 points in 39 games last year, 49 in 64 the year before.

If he was willing to take a two year deal for $4mil a year-ish, I think teams would be lining up to sign him. Even though he's only 33, he's got a lot of mileage on those skates, over 1,000 games played, so not sure I'd make a long term committment.

Everyone is saying MTL, but haven't we learned by now that most French players want nothing to do with playing there by now? Everytime a French UFA has the chance he doesn't sign there (same goes for all the Leafs fans who think every GTA born NHLer is DYING to play in that market).

I bet he stays in the state of Florida with the taxes so low and signs with the Panthers. With Weiss leaving, they have a gap at C.

Vinny - Hawks second line center if he wants to take a pay cut and get a ring.

Habs with 6 picks in the top 90 :blessed:

There's alot of Quebec born players ranked in the top 100, I bet Bergevin uses 4 of those 6 picks on Quebecers.

Maybe Vinny will finally come to Montreal :russ:

And I don't like that Leafs trade because it just gives them another goalie controversey that Reimer doesn't deserve. They did the same thing when they brought in Toskala after Raycroft had a good year and it killed his confidence.

Draft is boring. Let the chips fall where they may. These young guys who get drafted usually end up in the farm system first, unless they are superstars. They might get called up if someone gets injured.

It's all a circus until September. I wait until the end of August to get an idea of who is "really" going to be on the roster.

Only thing is that we already have 5 centres on the roster. We would have to somehow get rid of Deshairnais. But Vinny would be a welcome and much needed addition.
