It's over. It's a wrap for lyricism

Autotune crooning over a trap beat is what everybody wants now....that's what's considered "rap" now.

Everybody wants a "vibe..... deciphering and actually listening to poetry has been phased out.

The attention span of the current tic tok generation plays a role also.

I hear some of these songs the kids are listening to and it's only 1 verse. :gucci:

Everything has cycles.
That's the wave right now.

I don't believe lyricism is going to be back as in everyone really trying to rap like in the 90s, but I believe it will come back around in some fresh new guise this decade.

The fact is you can listen to whatever you want whenever you want. Discussing music from a macro perspective is frivolous exercise. You could listen to only what you want if you wanted. it’s disingenuous to say everything is trash when there is so much music you could listen to specifically what you think is good
