If I were to take a guess for why he doesnt get recognition, I think it has a lot to do with his emergence as sort of an underling of 9th wonder. I think fans still look at him as just a member of that North Carolina team, rather than a hot producer in his own right. Nic isnt a rah rah, love the attention all up in the videos type brotha. He also doesnt seem to constantly angle to link up with and cozy up to big name artists to increase his profile, and we all know in the music biz squeaky wheels get the oil. He's just a quiet cat that makes beats. But yeah, hes been one the best doin it for the past 10 years or so.
