Nike "Vaporfly" sneakers are under investigation by the International Association of Athletics Federations for possibly boosting the performance of runners. Axios sports editor Kendall Bakers joined CBSN AM to explain how the sneakers help runners and if they'll be banned from the 2020 Olympics.

and ppl try to say adidas is better
nobody that knows anything about shoes says that.

most of the sneakers designs that have been running the game for the last 7 years were conceptualized in a nike lab in the 80's they

from the balenciaga, adidas, etc everyone is eating off nike's plate right now. all these designs were just made possible by modern tech relatively recently.

Nike is ahead by leaps and bounds... the little adidas boost in popularity they had was brought in by former Nike designers. Adidas couldn't sustain that. They don't spend nearly as much on R&D

Why would they be banned when any and everybody can cop a pair thus leveling the playing field?
can't use them if you're sponsored by another shoe company. plus they said the consumer models aren't as crazy as the one's (Nike) athletes are using

it's an interesting subject, because it raises the question of where you draw the line. obviously advancements in running shoe tech try to give athletes an advantage by being lighter, absorbing shock, having a better grip, etc, but if the shoe is kind of 'springing' them forward, is that too much? if you think it doesn't matter, how do you feel about rocket propelled roller skates? :pachaha:

Probably because Eliud Kipchoge wore these during his historic run.
