You listening to Nas in the club? You're trying way too hard
I know there was dance music but we talking about rap dude RAP.acting like there wasn't dance music before current-era nonsense is intentionally obtuse.
most the artists you're trying to mock existed in a time where records had formulas and all of them had to have a song 'for the club' by default. But they had to be able to rap. Now people have whole careers playing songs you'd never hear outside of Magic City. And then have the nerve to try and say 'this is where music is right now'.
as previously stated: you're trying too hard.
Can't knock the hustle def rings off the club, don't bring Jay into this shytNobody wants to party in the club to One Mic, or Can't Knock the Hustle, or Stan, or Mural, or Sing for Me/I'm Dying of Thirst.
All anyone's saying is even the party music had more substance, aristic integrity, and were flat out just better when artists at least pretended to care just a little bit. There's no effort or integrity anymore. Everyone sounds the same. Nothing interesting is being introduced lyrically or sonically.
This is strawman and see through. Cut it out. Even the nerdiest of the blerdiest aint tryna party in the club to Da Art of Storyrllin' Pt 2.
I ain't clowning on Nas, Nas one of my favorite rappers ever but don't nobody wanna hear that shyt like thatI mean you wanna clown on Nas, I get it
but the hoes love Oochie Wally
...nikka Nelly's whole career was rap party music. Motherfukking Joe Budden has a song in the Club Rafters ffs.I know there was dance music but we talking about rap dude RAP.
Make it go the other way then(PAUSE)Using obvious non-groovable examples is disingenuous and could go both ways
