Nintendo Announces 'Hyrule Warriors'

Nintendo has announced Hyrule Warriors, a new title in development by Tecmo Koei headed to Wii U in 2014.

Hyrule Warriors (which is currently a working title and could still change) is not Nintendo's new Zelda game, president Satoru Iwata stressed during a Nintendo Direct broadcast this morning, but instead combines the “tried and true action” of the Warriors series with iconic weapons and enemies from the Zelda franchise.



Items shown in debut footage included a sword, bombs, a fire rod, and a Hylian shield, plus an epic spin attack by Link.

This isn’t the first crossover for the Warriors series, as Dynasty Warriors: Gundam hit PS3 in 2007. The most recent game in the Dynasty Warriors series, Dynasty Warriors 8, was released earlier this year.

Aren't developers sick of creating the same characters over and over and over and over and over and over again, for the past 20+ years?

Link is piff personified. The whole Zelda world as far as lore is piff. Problem is that Nintendo doesn't even try to explore it. Take the Imprisoning war, they alluded to it in many games, actually have a game set in that timeline. Don't hit us gamers with the 'a long time ago in a galaxy far far away' stars wars shyt, let us actually play it. They fall flat so many times with the story of a Zelda game. I swear that they go through a checklist so people don't get pissed. Impa, check, Lost Woods, check, Death Mountain, check, Boomerang & Hookshot, check. I swear that they do that shyt.

I think one of the producers said they didn't even have a story line until zelda II they made up on the fly
