Nintendo continues to make headlines, all thanks to Pokémon Go. Now the video game giant had the biggest daily turnover of any company on the Tokyo stock market this past Friday, July 15th.

Nintendo traded 476 billion yen in one day ( $4.5 billion), according to Bloomberg, breaking the record previously held by energy company Tokyo Electric.

While this wasn't the largest volume of Nintendo stock traded on the market (which happened on July 11th, a day after Pokémon Go's first weekend), it was the highest value. Also, at $33 Nintendo's stock price is still below the $70 high it hit in 2007 during its Wii days.

Pokémon Go has already added billions to Nintendo's market value since its release. Though with all the success the game has been enjoying, there have been a few problems. Developer Niantic had to delay its international launch due to server issues caused by unexpected high demand. There have been a few security concerns as well involving Google accounts, and a Holocaust Museum in Washington DC wants to see the craze come to an end.

And some people were :mjcry: about Nintendo making mobile games

They're worth more money than Sony Corporation now. (It ain't the first time this happened tho)

Nintendo can flop all they want with their next console, the minute people get tired of Pokemon Go Nintendo/Niantic can just be like

"Drop Gen 2 on em:jawalrus:"

Then it's a wrap.

"B bu but Nintendo is doomed and 'Pokemon GO' will be forgotten about in a week" :mjcry:

I rarely come into The Arcadium because some of you fools are so out of touch with reality it's sad. If you haven't seen hundreds of people out in public playing this shyt nonstop since it came out, you clearly never leave your house. You cannot avoid this shyt anywhere you go now.

I went to a funeral this weekend and at the reception, every single kid with a smartphone went outside to look for Pokemon. One of the receptionist told them you'll find nothing but Drowsy's out there.

Nintendo always had money though?
Even though the Wii U didn't do shyt they still had money
Its just the cool thing on the internet to hate on nintendo and say they're doomed because nintendo does whatever they want and gamers are whiny entitled bytch that want game Companies to bow to them.

If the nintendo is doomed people ran nintendo they'd fold the Company within 3 years

TOKYO — Nintendo on Tuesday (July 19) shot past Sony in market value after shares in the video game giant more than doubled following the release of its wildly popular Pokemon Go game.

The shares surged more than 14 per cent to end at ¥31,770 (S$404.85), up 120 per cent from their July 6 close.

That put Nintendo’s market capitalisation at ¥4.5 trillion yen, making it more valuable than Sony, one of Japan’s best-known companies, by about ¥400 billion.
