so are you saying Nintendo set out with a goal to have these numbers and losing money on the Wii U? Then saying while laughing "I guess we showed them"
No...I am saying that Nintendo set out and said "We want to make a console this way, with these games, and if the developers want to make games for our system then they will have to follow our guidelines" And that is what they did with the N64...and it was meh...and with the gamecube...and it a small failure...and with the wii...and it was a success...and with the wii u...and it is looking like a failure...and they will take the same approach with the next console
Unlike Sony and Microsoft...who just want to be the number 1 gaming console...so they will do whatever they think the market wants them to do...
Microsoft wanted to use DRM...and everyone complained...and Microsoft decided we not going to use DRM...
Sony did not have the PS4 support MP3's because they want to sell you music unlimited...and now people are complaining..."hey i can't add my own soundtrack to games cause the ps4 doesn't support mp3's"...and now sony is like "well if need be we can support mp3 in the future"...and nobody is buying that music unlimited shyt. How much you want to bet in the next 3 firmware updates for PS4 we get mp3 support?
Meanwhile everyone told Nintendo that mini disc were not the way to go for the gamecube and they said "yeah so what we like mini disk we are using them."
It is just a difference in philosophy...Nintendo makes consoles and games to make money...of course...but they want to make that money making their games, their way, on consoles designed, their way...
