Nintendo supports their consoles for 4 to 5 years anyway and the Wii U is 2 years old so a new console announcement in two years isn't far off.

more like 5-6 years - you have a while before seeing another Nintendo console and with the competition to release consoles before software to support it, add another 2 years.

They are trying to recapture that momentum with the Monster Hunter franchise. That's why it's 3DS only.

I'm willing to bet their next system will be a handheld/cpnsole combined.

Like, you can take the gamepad with you and keep playing.

It would be the smart move. Have all their development studios working on one console instead of split up.

The handheld market is shrinking, by combing both theyd really atand out from the crowd.

I haven't played a Nintendo product since the early 90s. However if they were to actually do this, I would snatch that up in a heartbeat.

Platformers are my favorite kind of games so I actually like the fact that Nintendo hasn't thrown them on the back burner.
