For all the people that lost out on getting the Mario Kart Switch 2 bundle if you have a My Best Buy Plus membership and spend $150+ with them on Nintendo products (not the consoles) you get $20 back. I bought Mario Kart and a Pro controller and it effectively makes Mario Kart $60 instead of $80. Considering this is a physical copy vs a digital code on the bundle that's fair.

I thought Nintendo games were cheaper to make, why were they the first to raise prices to $80 dollars? :jbhmm:

Where is the budget going, no motion capture, no voice acting, no accessibility features, no localization of different languages, no high fidelity cutscenes, etc.

Because they can, it is that simple :pachaha:Nintendo as a company has NEVER been consumer-friendly.

Though with Doug Bowser mentions variable prices, that talk better not be smoke or some backlash should be coming :lolbron: We gotta see some $40-$60 games. The fact that Kirby is $80 & BOTW is $90 is :snoop:

Damn that's highway robbery.

Ultimately gamers will decide if $80 too much, and if it is, the blowback will be harsh.

The last Mario Kart game was Deluxe and they kept the game going the entire generation. If you gonna make an argument a game isn't worth $80 one that was viable for 8 years isn't one to use for that.

So multiplayer games should be 80 dollars

Value is subjective because on one hand someone can justify a simple PS4 Pro mode style boost for $70 on the Switch 2 meanwhile a full blown ground up remake is a cash grab. It's wild.

What game requires $70 for a performance boost on Switch, though?

Most people's issue of the last of us 1 remake is that they could have spent the resources elsewhere. The remaster holds up pretty well. Obviously, the remake is the definitive way to play now. I highly expect we're going to get a Last of Us 2 Remake at some point. It would be shocked if this never happens.

I mean if you buy a game and it’s still going almost 8 years later it’s got a better case than most to cost more.

Single player games will undoubtedly go as well but at this point the tariffs are causing such a huge increase in the cost of hardware that the sales price isn’t fully covering so they have to make it up somewhere else.
