am i supposed to clap because they made the movie ass on purpose?
As I said, the movie isn't what you wanted it to be and that's fine. Everything isn't for everybody.

It's ass to YOU, but as you can see in this thread, it isn't for a lot of other people. They had never seen this kind of movie before and they liked it. That's fine, there's another movie that did the things you like and is more entertaining to you. You didn't connect with the themes of the movie, that simply means it doesn't match your tastes or you don't have the life experiences that informed how the people who like this movie view it.

As I've gotten older, I can understand the characters of this movie better. Sometimes I want to be a chigur and simply kill all the people that get in my way. Sometimes I want to be a cop and put criminals behind bars. Sometimes I want to be the lucky a$$hole who finds a shytload of money and uses it on women, booze and drugs because I have money and no job weighing me down. All of the characters in the movie represent a part of a man's soul. When you've lived a long time you have experiences in life that make these characters more relatable. I'm only speaking for myself but when I was younger I couldn't relate to anything in that movie. As a man in my 30s, this shyt feels like a different movie to me.

your stars are but dust on my shoes
Rewatching now, and it finally struck me how doomed Lewellyn was. As soon as his identity was known to the interested parties, he was never going to get away with the money.

Carson Wells was only being truthful when he warned Lewellyn that he wasn't cut out for it.

Of course, the dialogue in this movie is fantastic, as is customary with Coen Bros films.

To be fair the dialogue is taken directly from the book
