Don't apologize, hahaha. Yes Dream's first to albums are some of the best PROGRESSIVE R&B made. He actually took modern R&B to new heights. He found a way to incorporate (while ripping off Prince) that modern synth sound that every label was going for, but still keep it R&B, unlike the bullshyt R&B u hear today. He didn't go full blown pop and Four on the floor. His album was still rooted with R&B. He was able to get young kids back intoR&B.

So yeah, his first 2 albums are some of the greatest modern and PROGRESSIVE R&B. AND, I will say this, had Dream given his first album to Usher? That shyt would've changed the R&B game like Future Sex Love Sounds.

Of course, those Linn Drums that Prince used in the 80's has had a huge influence on The Dream's music.

And yes, the song "The Beautiful Ones" is a great example of that. The influence is so evident though.

Theres no Youtube joints becuz prince hates the internet....but if you can dust off that PURPLE RAIN cd and listen to "The Beatiful Ones" and TELL ME Dream didnt str8 jack that whole sound.

give dream a pass though. how old is prince? how long was that kind of music made? its okay to bring back great music by a great artist. even if you yourself cant hold a candle to the originator. dream is just paying homage. thats all.
