Seems like he could get a little rest at the line. But he shooting like the clock is running. Seems like it would be harder towards the end of games.

fukk you fakkit I find it easier to shoot from the floor. Only reason I elevate is to shoot over defenders or if I need extra power from long range.

Talmbout I aint got no lift I'd send your shyt off the backboard if you ever tried to come in my paint and then I'd beat you up after the game :weezy:

You speaking to a world class athlete right now, fairy.

this should be a viable option for dudes that shoot under 50%

some players just shoot better in rhythm and it sure as hell is a better option than shooting underhand

Out of the thousands of players playing pro ball we can positively identify one (1) that shoots a jumpshot free throw. That speaks volumes.

Nonetheless, most people dont shoot free throws flat footed. They extend to the tips of their toes. It doesn't compare to an in game situation where you run and cut to a position and shoot over a defender. It's in your rhythm of shooting. People used to shoot set shot but it evolved to a jump shot. Free throws stayed the same.

WTF is wrong with some of these dudes that disagree with jumping from a *still* position makes it harder.

When you take a jumpshot you tend to already be in motion.

It's why he did it. He's shooting 41% from the stripe this year (after being 70+ the last 2 years). Drastic times call for drastic measures. Guess he's been doing it in practice, and it's been working, so he finally did it in game.

It does make it harder(for 99% of people). FT's isn't a jump shot. I seen a old white dude make 100 FT's in a row by just standing there and shooting the ball in the right way. In a game I'm sure he wouldn't be able to stand there and do the same with out jumping.

Anyone that says different don't need to be coaching basketball anytime soon

It's funny how stuff becomes customary and people don't even question it. Brook Lopez will take a wide open shot without jumping and people will question why he doesn't jump on his shots. When he does it at the free throw line, it's normal. What's the difference really?

Guys that always shoot jump shots whenever they're warming up should do it from the free throw line too. Unless you spend a lot of time practicing free throws flat footed and developing muscle memory by using a form that is easily replicated, it's stupid to shoot that free throw flat footed. I play in a rec league and people brick free throws all the time because they're trying to use a technique they never practice.
