I'll post full length articles and essays when I get on my laptop.
Point-blank, parents still push their daughters into less STEM-based classes and majors, professors, especially advisors at the PhD-level, are notorious for their discrimination against female students, sexual harassment and assault are still fairly common, same for the legal and the finance field (Ellen Pao case, noted), tech has been a "boy's club" again, sexual harassment, lack-of-camaraderie, exclusion, etc.
all of this is magnified by 10x for Black women, who face a distinct mix of racism and misogyny in the work place.
There are also distinct income differences in these groups, while both law associates at a V10 firm, or junior analysts at a Big 4 firm may be paid the same, small title and job description distinctions, which are arbitrarily applied, show income disparity.
Express discrimination against women who may become pregnant is also another issue, though I'm on the fence about it.
I'm skipping a lot of nuance and detail because I'm typing this w/ one finger on my phone.
Waiting patiently for this poster to locate his laptop....
