Noisy Neighbors

What has been your experience in dealing with noisy neighbors?

I live in a nice area, but unfortunately ended up in the noisiest building ever. I'm done and looking through my lease now for rules against noise. One neighbor has been playing music quite loudly everyday from about 730a- sometime in the afternoon for going on 3 weeks now. The children here are misbehaved (fighting, screaming, slamming doors), but their parents aren't the best either. The police used to come often due to domestic issues in the building. I want to start calling 311 but wonder if it's even going to change anything. No one speaks to each other here, so I feel that approaching directly would solve nothing.

What has been your experience in dealing with noisy neighbors?

Had Hispanic neighbors growing up.

They would hold bi weekly parties from 2 PM to 2 AM. 40+ family members packed into a 1500 SQ Feet residential with Salsa, Regaeton, and Merengue pouring out of some concert speakers.



So many sleepless nights.

In all seriousness, it's the same at every apartment complex... you'll have your a$$hole neighbors that don't give any fukks.... so you have two options....

Report them repeatedly to the apartment manager, so they'll get evicted or purchase a house

All I could do was move when my lease was up.


I made sure that my next spot was hella quiet.

Unfortunately you have to move to the low minority areas. Because they tend to be less noisey.

Most apartment complex ain't gonna do shyt bout it since its happening during the day

As long as it's not past 10pm..that's what my old neighbor failed to realize fukk that old Mexican lady who stayed reporting everything we do to the landlord

That old bitter lady even had the nerve to file a complaint bout us having too many guests over

I don't live in the hood. Never have, never will. I just happen to have hood neighbors

. I'm going to try filing complaints to the landlord. The kids are off next week, and I'm prepared to call 311 with complaints as I'm sure they'll be screaming and fighting all week.

Purchasing a home is part of my 2 year plan.

I live in a shytty flat so I deal with noises neighbours a lot. shyt I'm sure I've kept people up before when I've had parties.

Now that I've got a kid I've had to be that old guy telling people to keep it down I'm only 20 as well.

What has been your experience in dealing with noisy neighbors?

Its the worst and I feel your pain, but unfortunately as others have stated, there's not much you can do unless you feel like approaching them and accosting them, but that's not recommended. For me, I'd always pay extra just to get a top floor apartment if its a multi-story unit to eliminate the noise from above. There's nothing worse then constantly hearing kids running around all day, stomping around and shyt. Right now, I got a spot in a single story complex filled with old people, so I'm alright...except for it being next to the train tracks.
