"To fix this headwind, Black women need a way to access long-term funding resources and solutions that will provide their businesses with the opportunity to grow and thrive.

To make this happen, the finance community must first recognize the biases in investment assessment that have persisted for too long and caused Black women to be in this predicament. The community also needs to understand the value and benefit of businesses run by Black female leaders. With that recognition, systems can be reassessed and refreshed into something that is more fair."

Even when I’ve met women who were “bosses” they tend to live out their means check to check . Leased Benz, expensive apartment, expensive purse nothing in it

This is a black issue more than a woman issue. For every black business created, Hispanics create around three and those numbers have been consistent for years. Also, most of black businesses are sole proprietorship with no physical location.

As for the push on black women businesses, its capitalism. Folks should start thinking about how capitalism views black men and our dollar.

LLC gang isn't always 6 figure or 7 figure gang as well. Mom and pops businesses can be just as dead end as any job.
Yup.

Also, people still have a hard time understanding the relationship between money and time. They don’t understand credit and good debt and how to use these tools to your advantage. Vastly underestimate just how much time and life starting/building/maintaining a successful/profitable business requires and the risks that come with that. They don’t have a thorough enough plan, some don’t even have a plan at all.

A lot of this isn’t their fault though. There are guidelines but there’s really no step-by-step guide or blueprint to this shyt. There’s lot of moving parts and while the information is out there, it’s not curated and it’s not one size fits all. Some are lucky enough to have people in their circle that can share knowledge and warn them of mistakes not worth making; one of the reasons with building out a solid network is really important. And even with all that you’re still gonna need some luck. However, the vast majority of people who go it alone will fail. Here’s where a lot of people give up, when they should have used it as a learning experience. You’re gonna need a certain level of grit and grind to make it work. Need to be ok with taking chances and understanding risk and risk appetites(this is very important; I’ve seen some really smart people lose out because they have no appetite for risk; they’re way too safe/calculated). If it was easy everyone would do it.

Running a business is tough. I had a hookup on some frozen Digiorno pizzas. I would get em by the case for dirt cheap. I bought a couple ovens and rented a spot and opened up Buckgiorno's Pizza and Candy Bar.

You'd get a pizza, candy bar and a 16 Oz soda for $16.99

I couldn't sustain it and I also couldn't handle the online criticism

:dead: you could've at least offer lil ceaser's prices for them frozen pizzas.
I know a mexican dude who used to eat on college campuses doing that. Because we had a meal plan and on weekend it was only brunch and dinner served. So people would usually be hungry as fukk come evening. He'd roll in with his hotdog cart around 7pm and sell out every saturday and sunday.
