1St off, all I did was ask a question, how is that being defensive???

2. The whole article was about Cam Newton... not featuring Cam. It was about Cam.
Your post would of made sense had the writer, used different players including Cam, but Did he do that?
Nope.
stay in ya lane...
i don't have a lane nikka i own the highway
he actually compared him to Peyton when he played the bowl in NJ click the link and read the 1st sentence but i left that out cause it's irrelevant to this year and isn't important.
and why would the writer go through a list of players instead of using the player that will have to pay the most. the article is about the egregiousness of how much dude is going to pay. but im sure folk are interested in how much of 950k ghram gano is going to pay

I don't get how this counts as income earned in cali? His employer is based in Carolina, he's not a resident, in what world can you be taxed for this? That's like taking a business trip and you getting taxed for the week you worked in cali.
this is how Cali does it. they call it a duty day tax.
California uses the duty method -- roughly number of days in California divided by total days under contract times the total income to determine the income sourced in California. From the article, the percentage was 5%. So 5% of his total income is considered sourced in California; eg roughly $1 mil out of the $20 mil.

A "duty day" is defined as "any day services are performed under the contract from the beginning of an official preseason activity until the last game played". The "duty days" in California are then divided by the total "duty days" to create a ratio. This ratio is then multiplied by the total compensation. This then is deemed to be the California source income.

No NFL team will ever be successful for this very reason.. Athletes are starting to be more cognizant about their financial situation

Don't smiley me to death ..

Just look at the record of the Chargers/ 49ners/Raiders over the last ten years combined.. No top tier athlete is tryna move out to Cali and get taxed to death
You do realize most states have a "jock tax"....and the Niners and charges had success over the past 10 years.
