I'm old enough to have watched Jordan in all of his prime, as a Detroit native, I was watching when he finally broke through and crushed the buildings on the Pistons. How LeBron plays, it doesn't come off as elegant as Michael did his work, but you can't argue with the effectiveness. I can't cosign the championships argument when I will kufi slap a nikka that tells me that Barry Sanders isn't the GOAT back and all he got was an asskicking in the NFC championship against the Redskins.

However, for the first time in the NBA since MJ's reign, there is a player playing that seems like he has cheat codes enabled. He puts up 30/8/8/ and it is like he isn't even trying. I see a few more holes in his game but as he has been progressing every year, I'm sure he's going to plug them up sooner than later. We've been watching him ever since he was USA Today player of the year as a Sophomore, then won again as a Junior and then again as a Senior. He was lauded and ordained to be doing this in the NBA. Why are we really surprised. I'm not. His career is Nas' career done right. The Chosen One has clearly risen above his competitors.

The eye test tells me he isn't there yet, but it does tell me that he is a lot closer than people might care to admit.

Pure talent and skill wise, you could legitimately argue LeBron is the greatest we've ever seen at his position, whatever you wanna define him as.

Like you mentioned using Barry Sanders, there is a problem with this website and sports fans in general when they mistakenly combine accomplishments and skill together, when in reality, you can't look at sports like that.

Accomplishments like championships are team accomplishments at the end of the day, sure, some individuals contribute more than others, but at the end of the day they should be irrelevant when you wanna talk about individual skill and talent.

That being said, I think when it's all said and done, you could make a strong case for LeBron being the GOAT talent in the NBA. It's pretty frightening as far as how good he continues to become, and combine that with the fact he's finally confident in who he is and the pressure of winning is off his chest, who knows how far he could go.

Does he have the accomplishments as far as Kobe and MJ? As far as the ones that matter no, but eventually he could get up there, and then you could argue who is the most accomplished of all time.

Awesome answer and what I'm getting at.

Barry Sanders did a lot of "cute fukkery" on the field but his run backwards 10 yards to gain 5 bullshyt is NOT a style conducive to winning titles. You are a fukking Barry fanboy and not realistic at all.

Awesome answer and what I'm getting at.

This is coming from someone who absolutely despised LeBron for many years, but last year was really a revelation. It was watching a Tony Romo-like character within the narrative of sports finally man the fukk up, change his game, and get shyt done.

As a Heat fan, the first season of Bosh-Wade-Lebron was weird as fukk, but I've gotten adjusted to :dwyaneflab: making way for LBJ.

Not really a fan of LeBron personally, but I admired his story last season. My favorite players were always guys like Rasheed or Kobe, guys who didn't give a fukk and just did whatever they wanted. Not saying those are the best guys to induce positive chemistry 100% of the time, but they have character traits I can relate to, and they're traits that I was drawn to.

LeBron finally stopped giving a fukk, you can even see it in his media answers nowadays. He has added the not give a fukk form of leadership a Kobe or MJ might have, whereas before he was very worried about being politically correct, now he's succinct and forthcoming about how he really feels. He just seems confident in who he is and what he's accomplished.

His failures were always predicated on his self-consciousness and inability to just play naturally instead of forcing shyt, but now, he's beyond all that and I'm it's partially led to his improvement in all facets of his game.

5.0 Career yard per carry.

2nd all time to Jim Brown. Behind that porous offensive line.

Is this why Emmitt Smith only averaged over 5.0 YPC one season his his career? Thurman Thomas never averaged over 5.0 in any season for his career. Marshall Faulk? Three times.

Barry averaged 99.8 yards a game for his career. His average is basically hitting the century mark. Again, the GOAT.

Has never once averaged 8 boards a season. Did 8 assists only once and got 30 ppg once. They came in different seasons too. So uh, cut it with the lies.

Averaged 30 points twice, had two seasons where he averaged 7.9 boards and he is at 8.1 for this season.
