Watching this dude do a brake job on a Chevy Sonic, its so calming :wow:

If life went my way this would have been one of my career choices, but working on diesel trucks rather than cars as diesel mechanic seems to be a better gig than a regular car mechanic.

You did fine. Shelf life of a car mechanic is now +\- 10 years. EV’s have a lot less parts to diagnose/fix and dealers are tightening up big time on allowing anyone outside the manufacturer to repair/maintain their cars. It’s near impossible to fix anything on a Tesla without tools/software that’s so expensive it makes it not worth the trouble, and the Germans try to do the same through over complicating/over engineering their cars to discourage people from working on them outside dealer trained mechanics.
Diesel trucks will be on the road about 15 years or so longer than ICE cars so no we offices there.

Estimates to fix tesla easily run up 15k to 20k due to all the required shyt from Tesla and technology required. Plus tesla has a mix of aluminum structural components that are easily damaged in a collision. I hated getting a tesla repair coming into the shop, shyt is a headache.

If you got xbox/gamepass. They got auto mechanic simulator. shyt is like a real shop. They take schematics of real cars and all the associated mechanical parts and you have to run a shop profitable.

You can take apart a whole engine , exhaust, and suspension parts but you gotta know what steps and items need to be removed before you can proceed to the next components. You have to remember all the R/I(remove and installs) and R/Rs(remove and replace)
