This isn't even an exclusively black issue, other ethnicities continue to face this. Indians (lightskinned vs. darkskinned), East Asians (Chinese vs. Japanese/North Korea vs. South Korea)

So saying "Black people" we gotta fix this-- Fix what? This is going to happen until the end of time as long as there are differences.

Did you watch Oprah's Blue eyed vs Brown eyes experiment? Google it. It's tribal, it's more than just race. People compete on sports teams, and lol (the console war). On everything they can possibly associate themselves with.

Black people didn't always have light skin vs. dark skin insecurities, nor did the Indians.

Chinese vs. Japanese is group A vs. group B, not members of the same group as in the case of Black people.

There are many divisions within the African continent, but there is no doubt that the remnants of colonialism plays a major influence on the life of the people within. You're talking about members of a continent that has been divided and and manipulated by outside forces for hundreds of years. As an African, it's not hard or difficult to say that this is why these issues manifest in a certain that is unique to it. It simply doesn't compare to a brown eyes vs blue eyes experiment IMO because the forces of the western world are different than the forces (social, political, economic) of the East and the African continent.
