Before this movie came out you would get clowned bumping some NWA on the block. Now that's all I been hearing. I ain't complaining because good music is good music but don't be a dikkrider :scust:

I havent watched the movie tho. Just seem hella corny and fake since its a major release . I'll prolly check it out tonite

You bugging. Everybody was on NWA hard back in the day. Maybe the younger generation like 21 downward. But older heads of all races had that NWA shyt. Why you think the movie so big.
I'm 35 and my generation caught on more with Dre when he released The Chronic in 92.
We were aware of NWA but it really wasn't that big out here in NY. At least it didn't seem like it at the time.
You gotta remember that 1988...1989...that was still Bobby Brown's era.
And for rappers it was still kinda Rakim and Big Daddy Kane...etc...

The big thing that made NWA hit the national consciousness was mainly when the government tried to ban "gangsta rap". That whole Ice T thing....you would see people debating it on talk shows...I forget who...maybe it was Oprah or Donahue...

Anyway, I guess it's cool that NWA is getting their due as far as their influence on hip hop
