There is something poppin every single day. I use to not really like going to NYC because of traffic and smell. But i decided to put that aside and explore the city without preconceived notions. What i discovered really opened my mind. So much culture, art everywhere, every kind of hustle imaginable, different landscapes, attractive architecture and diversity galore. Even though Id been here many times before it felt like I was seeing and experiencing it for the first time. Nycers get a bad rep for being rude but I met some really humble and open people. I can see why despite high cost of living some of yall wouldnt live elsewhere.

NYC is great.
But it could be a lot better.

Housing could be more affordable.
Food could be more affordable.
Transit system could be better.
The city could be cleaner (Tokyo is as big as NYC but virtually spotless compared to NYC).

There's a lot to do but a lot of people who are older and remember the 70s, 80s and 90s will tell you that while the city is safer today, it lost a lot of it's identity and culture in the process.

The arts aren't quite the same here as it used to be.
NYC isn't a music hub anymore.
There aren't any real neighborhoods anymore. Everything has kind of blended into....nothing.

I grew up in the suburbs and even I can tell you it's a lot different than what it was even compared to the mid 1990s.

Also an underrated factor is how suburban certain parts of the city is... very few people would believe that there's wild deer that live in NYC :wow:

There's also a lot of programs to get troubled people back on there feet here :mjcry:

But I still think living in a suburb close to NYC is the GOAT living experience... you get the pluses of the south and NYC is only a quick train ride away, in some cases you'd even have a quicker commute into the city than some people that live within the five boroughs :pachaha:
