NPD Sales Results February 2017: For Honor #1,Nioh#9

Overall Results:

February retail game sales are down 21% year over year.

Hardware was down 30% year over year.

Console and Handheld game sales were down 14% year over year.

Physical and Steam PC software sales (for AAA games) were down 26% year over year.

Dudes thought I was bugging saying sales were going to be front loaded this Gen and would not have the legs of previous gens.

Console sales are going to be nowhere close to last gen when it's over.


I expect new Consoles by fall 2019.

Tons of hate online yet their games are constantly huge sellers.

I think the sales of gtav have forever changed Rockstar has a company and how they view games.


Insane that gta online is such a game changer for them,and it's something the housers didn't even want or care about. All Leslie Benz idea/baby and then they forced him out of the company.

They're still above 300 dollars tho, which from what I recall, isn't the true market price when it starts to really roll out in sales like that.
