The year 3030

Tupac Shakur died 20 years ago this week. Gene Demby and Shereen Marisol Meraji debate his legacy with the writer Kevin Powell, who covered the rapper for three years until Tupac's death. How should we view Tupac's talents and imperfections today?

Me too... But I realized he wasn't cool way back when he was alive. I could see past ask the loud talk, yelling, spitting and ignorance that he did. He negstive inspired a generation of this bs rebellious thug shyt behavior in youngsters and as a black educator in the inner city of Chicago, I could this characteristic in the parents of today's children. Sadly, I didn't get the little appreciation that I have for a very small portion of his music until after he was gone and silent. As far as him being deep, he never provoked any thought for me, Nas does a much better job of this. His ideals never made it past surface level for me and he, IMO,didn't have the lyrical skills to go any further with it and make it dope.
