It's not about having a low expectation for black folks, but we're maintaining perspective to the reality of some black folks' plight like low employment opportunities for teens, brehs with prison records, low skill, minimal education , or just temporarily down on their luck, illegal immigration directly impacts them
Any breh not being able to put food on the table has no time or patience to be talmbowt how to defeat white supremacy, build black ecnonomical structure and supporting only black businesses that invest back into the community
That is why my parents stressed to me and my siblings that, personal responsibility means nothing if its not complimented by societal responsibility, vice versa. To show us that you cannot just focus on tackling one issue, while ignoring/minimizing other overlapping issues that contributes to a bigger problem. That's the flaw when folks talk that "bu bu what about black on black crime," when the topic is about holding police accountable. So if you cannot hold a governmental agency accountable, like the police, then how you finna hold the judiciary, legislative, executive branches accountable for laws and policies that undermines the black community

I grew up in the projects. I have a record. End of the day I can live in the reality I live in and play the hand I'm dealt the best way I can, or I can just accept that the world is racist, and since I can't fix all of racism, might as well do nothing to improve my situation. I'm a fukk up with 5 years in the Marines and a 142 IQ making 125k a year. Yep, I got lucky. Not like I put in the time and hard work to get what I got.
And its tons of jobs I can't get with my felony. Plenty of em. Most I wouldn't want in the first place. Can't work at Target stores, but can work in their corporate office making 8x more than a basic target employee.

Look at how the loss of industry in america and the outsourcing of jobs to other countries has crippoed thw black community.
In 2014, black unemployment in America was at a 24 year record high while the white unemployment rate....and others...decreased.
Now its at 9.9%. Unemployment on a variable level in accordance to economics is never supposed to be over 5%.
There are still areas of this country where black unemployment is almost at 50%.
Its always been high...but as the country moves more and more and more towards a service/convenience/consuner economy...jobs that would of been able to sustain the black middle class of america in the past are now gone....and as the threat of automation comes closer....whats gonna happen? Black folks gonna become obsolete.
Its more than just telling people to "pull themselves up by the bootstraps". Youre asking people to go into debt up to their knees just to get a bachelors just to get a job that would of required an associates or less years pass. And not everyone is built for stem or wants to do stem...and are probably better off doing a trade.
At this rate...asking black peopoe to continue this cyclw of asking others for jobs amd being dependent on others is absolute suicide. More needs to be done.
