The fact the he didn't put the 1970's black (power / Arts / "is beautiful" / Studies) movement into focus is a glaring hole in his timeline.
(70's Movies & TV probably should have been added also as a major disseminating factor)

Interesting. I'll have to watch the whole thing when I have time. I also wonder about the Egyptian thing, if they go into greater detail about how those women came to power. I did not watch the whole thing but I would hope they comment on how little imagery there is in regards to black male rulers when in fact there were a considerable many overall. Good find.

you won't ever hear me using that term. why would I use a term for black empowerment when the people themselves it was derived from don't even consider themselves that. I refuse.
and like dude said, 97% of the monarchs were kings.
