Nurse saw that the starters can dominate a good team in the second quarter. Left the bench out there 2nd half to try to figure it out. It didn’t work lol but maybe the experience will pay off in the long run.

I don’t think it will be fair to judge this team until all-star break. I foresee us winning less games than last year as the team adjusts to new players and coach but being better by the end of the season.

As much as Kawhi is a winner, it looks like the team has to gel and that’s a process. This core of this squad has been playing with a particular philosophy for a long time. It will take some time to develop new habits and break old ones. I think we win 55-57 games but still go to the finals.

One thing I’ll say is Nurse needs to send his actual starting lineup out there to start the next three preseason games. Put Danny Green at the 2 and leave it at that.

Yea agree,you dont have to run ur sets ur gonna use but get some condinuity in the lineup,theres too many guys taking up space that we know arent gonna be with the team...Like what is that mormon cac doing starting a game where were trying to gel as a team in the starting 5.

To me thats a coaching mistake,play him at the end of the game,all first halves should be for getting Kawhi acclamated and the bench..

You can already see he is going to overdo Siakam as a point forward....You can already see some negatives with it 2 games in.

I think that’s more of a Siakim confidence problem than it’s a Nurse problem. Siakim worked on all this shyt during the summer and looks like he’s afraid to use it. He needs to slow down and believe in himself.

Nurse can not let him run a fastbreak everytime he rebounds the ball....Id like to see him get catch the ball off screens on the elbow and work rather than all these wild contested layups with him going 50MPH coast to coast....Maybe its just pre season but i hope we dont see alot of this in the regular season,it looks like playoff Pascal which wasnt great to watch...

I think you highlighted the problem I’m seeing too, which is that Pascal shouldn’t be going coast to coast to try to score. Until he gets comfortable trying to finish a fast break after a rebound, I think he is best used to push the ball to the three point lane or foul line then give it up. Or alternatively, if there’s a guard near him when he grabs the rebound, he should give it up then run the floor to get it back in a scoring position.
